Welcome to my board on tinnitus treatment results.  To those of you who are not new to this site, you will see some big changes.  I have changed the format of this site to a tinnitus forum to allow for more discussion.

As a tinnitus sufferer for two and one-half years now, I have researched the treatment of tinnitus extensively.  So many possible treatments, but so few concrete answers.  Making it worse is the lack of a centralized information site noting results from actual tinnitus sufferers testing the myriad of tinnitus treatments.  That is the goal of this site.  So please enter your comments to share with others about your experiences.  And don't forget to bookmark this site and check back soon for new entries!

Also, I wanted to let tinnitus sufferers know that tinnitus can go away.  I first had tinnitus about 10 years ago for about 6-8 months.  It just went away for all of 10 years.

I woke up back in late February of this year with ear ringing (both sides) and an intense feeling of pressure
in my ears.  Eventually, after many trips to doctors and ENT's and other specialists I found out that I have
TMJ disorder causing many different ear symptoms.  Popping, clicking, pain, tinnitus, and difficulty moving
my jaw like normal.  I first started seeing a chiropractor in May.  He twisted my neck and used a device to
adjust my jaw which was misaligned and locking up on me.

On the third day of seeing him miraculously my ear symptoms went away! I could hear normally again and
there was no pain or discomfort anymore.  Along with many other positive changes.  Unfortunately I kept
going to him and now I have a different form of tinnitus called pulsatile tinnitus. Sad

There is definitely a connection between neck and or jaw to my tinnitus.  Now I am going to a speciality
chiropractor called an atlas orthogonal chiro.  He adjusts the top bone in the spine, C1.  In addition to
this I am going to start getting a device to wear and realign my jaw from a special dentist.  Hopefully
this all will get rid of my tinnitus eventually.

Thank you for your story.  It is so amazing how many people show a connection to neck/jaw problems and tinnitus.  It seems like besides hearing loss, this is one of the more common causes of tinnutis.  Please post a follow-up after seeing the specialty chiropractor.

I just joined today but have suffered tinnitus for 17 years.I have had neck problems even before I had my big wreck but never had the ringing or buzzing until that accident.I landed face first on the ground and bent my neck and back backwards in various places that it wasn`t ment to be bent.I do have the clicking and pop in my jaw on both sides.I have also been fitted for a night splint by my dentist(orthodontist),but the pain that I get from wearing it makes it hard to use.
Some of the things that I have heard about are almost funny (notice I said almost).I have even heard of a surgery for the TMJ but don`t know if it will help get rid of the Tinnitus. Has anyone heard anything about it,if so let me know I will be one of the first to try it.But knowing the way things go with me it can`t be that easy.Never has anything been that easy for anything that I have had happen to me.Oh before I forget to mention I have been to a Chiropractor but since I also have a rare disorder of the spine called Syringomyelia (cyst or open carities in the spinal cord) and have had a shunt placed in the one at C-4 to C-5, I haven`t had any Chiropractors that are willing to give me any treatments. As I have said in the past I am a Train Wreck looking for another place to happen.
